Tropical heat in Dublin

The last two days have been the hottest in Dublin for a number of years. As people in the city know, it has not been sunny, but overcast and very humid with an ever present risk of a thunder storm. Across the country the heat has been described by many as oppressive, and temperatures in the shade have set many new records. The heat is expected to wane over the coming days.
