Recent Weather Risks Fruit Crop

The last two weeks have witnessed a period of heavy rain, followed by excessive heat. These fluctuations, combined with the cold spring, have put this year’s fruit crop at risk. It has caused plums to fall, and had led to a burgeoning aphid population which is wreaking havoc on crops of apples, plums and blackcurrants.
