A violent thunderstorm has killed seven people in London. The worst of the storm hit south London where seven people were struck by lightning on Wandsworth Common. The dead - four of whom were young children - had sought shelter under trees in two separate parts of the Common. Witnesses reported seeing a man and his child lying dead beside each other, with smoke coming from their clothes.
