Dancing master suing over tango comments
A dancing master based in Paris is suing the Archbishop of Paris after his remarks about the tango. The dancing master claims that his interests have been attacked when Cardinal Amette condemned the tango. He is suing for damages of 100,000 francs.
Cardinal Amette condemned the tango as a sin soon after the Vatican declared the dance was an offence against God. There have been similar crusades against the tango seen around the world, most recently Cardinal Farley in New York criticised the tango, among other dances.
