Policemen accused of disobeying orders reinstated
Dublin, 9 October 1914 - The two policemen dismissed from the Dublin Metropolitan Police in the aftermath of the Howth gun running in July have resumed their duties.
Constables Michael Gleeson and Andrew O’Neill were dismissed from the force for ‘insubordination’ after they refused to disarm Irish Volunteers in the city.
Their salaries will be paid from the date of their dismissal.
