Man who keeps carrier pigeons charged under Defence of the Realm Act

Cashel, 22 March 1915 - A Tipperary man who keeps carrier pigeons was charged this week with a breach of the Defence of the Realm Act at Cashel Petty Sessions.

The court was told that James Leahy keeps homing pigeons without a permit. Mr. Leahy told the court that he was unaware of the regulation and would have sought a permit if he had known. The case was dismissed with a caution to Mr. Leahy.
