Hearings into Titanic disaster continue in London
The owners of the Titanic, the Oceanic Steam Navigation Company, yesterday continued their appeal in London against verdicts and judgments for payment of compensation to the relatives of four Irish passengers who drowned on the vessel.
All the passengers had been travelling in steerage and the original judgments found that there was negligence in the navigation of the vessel and that the conditions of travel printed on the back of the passengers’ tickets had not been properly explained to any of them.
Meanwhile, reports from America say that a reenactment of the Titanic disaster is planned for a motion picture that is to be made of the ship’s sinking.
