Mr Carey, owes his life to his daughter, Miss Kate Carey, who rushed to the spot and seized the chain attached to the animal’s nose and succeeded in controlling its increasing fury and led him away. The victim was soon after attended by the local doctor and Rev. W. Rice. He suffered several nasty bruises and the bull’s horn split his nose, but he is expected to make a full recovery.
The Kildare Observer described Mr Carey’s daughter’s actions as heroic and believe she is well deserving of the notice of proper authority.
