Yeats and the Abbey in London

The Abbey Theatre players have performed at the Court Theatre in London for a select audience to raise funds for the new art gallery to be built in Dublin. The Players performed George Shaw’s The Showing Up of Blanco Posnet. Mr Yeats addressed the audience at the theatre, and explained how proud he was of the proposed design for the gallery. He believed that the gallery would not only provide employment, but would also inspire the next generation of Irish artists.
