Woman Fought as ‘Man’ During US Civil War

It has been revealed that Albert Cashier, and Irish ‘man’, who had fought in the US Civil War is in fact a woman. This was revealed when Cashier was admitted to hospital as she had become insane. Cashier had been seen as a fearful soldier, and one of only thirty survivors from her company at the end of the war.
