Students to Begin Co-Operative to Supply Groceries and Tobacco
Students at Trinity College are pushing ahead with plans to begin a co-operative society to supply groceries and tobacco to students. The students have been assisted in their plans by Sir Horace Plunkett and George Russell, both of whom are keen supporters of the co-operative movement. Local traders have expressed their concerns about the plan, saying that the scheme will deprive them of trade and that the move represents an unwarranted invasion of the commercial field by a teaching institution.
