Strike Settled in Sligo
The dispute on the Sligo docks is over. The workers had demanded that only trade union labour be employed on the Sligo Quays. The strikers and employers have been in negotiation for two days and have reached an agreement. The details of the deal have not been made public, but the announcement that the strike is over was met with celebration. Local bands began parading in the town and large crowd gathered to hear Mr P.T. Daly, for the dock workers, address a meeting at the town hall.
