Polar Explorer Recounts the Search for Pole

A packed crowd at the Albert Hall last night listened to Commander Evans tell the story of Captain Scott's 1912 search for the South Pole, the expedition which included the Irishman, Tom Crean. Evans was one of the last men to see Scott alive, and recounted with sadness that ‘little did we think that our three cheers were the last appreciation they would ever know’. Lady Scott was in attendance.
