Man Accused of Murdering Woman and Burying Her Body in Shallow Grave

William Burton was brought before the small court at Wimbourne today, charged with the murder of 24 year old cook, Winifred Mitchell. The woman vanished five weeks ago, and it appears she was pregnant by the accused at the time of her disappearance. Her body was found in a shallow grave, barely two foot deep, in woodland where the accused worked as a rabbit trapper. Police had been alerted to the site of the grave when the dead woman’s false teeth were found nearby. The trial was adjourned until next week.
