Is The Royal Irish Constabulary Becoming a Catholic Force?

The Morning Post has reported that many young Protestants have left the police force, and as a result the RIC is becoming a dominantly Catholic force. The report argues that many Protestants do not feel comfortable in belonging to a police force whose job will be to defend Home Rule. It states that authorities in Dublin Castle are concerned by this trend.
