Inquests open into tragic Tyrone double death
The Inquests opened today into the deaths of Charles Young and Robert Robb. Mr Young was shot and killed by Mr Robb over what appears to have been a dispute about a land sale. Mr Robb was subsequently arrested and transferred to Derry Gaol, where he was later found hanging from a window bar with a bed sheet tied around his neck. The coroner recorded a verdict of shock and laceration on Mr Young, and one of suicide on Mr Robb. There appears to be no absolute clarity about what caused the initial attack on Mr Young, but the tragedy was made worse in that the two men were cousins and deemed to be close.
They had only recently reunited as Mr Robb had only recently returned from a period of time spent living in Canada.
