Drunkenness Increases in Dublin

Figures released today by the Dublin Metropolitan Police show a year-on-year increase in the numbers of people charged with drunkenness. Two years ago 1,193 people were charged, but today’s figures show that the total jumped last year to 2,345 people (of which 803 were women). The number of people charged with being drunk in charge of a vehicle increased from 58 to 87.
