Bomb explodes in GPO
Mr Corr, a postal sorter, has been seriously injured at the GPO. He was stamping a large pile of outbound mail, when he came to stamp a large parcel that was addressed to John Dillon MP, in London. When Corr’s stamper struck the envelope, it exploded severely damaging his hand. He was treated at the scene by a doctor and conveyed home in what was described as severe pain. It is not known who planted the explosive device in the envelope, but investigating officers believe it may be connected with the suffrage campaign.
