Castlebar Asylum allows cricket but not GAA
At a meeting of the Mayo County Board of the GAA today, criticism was levelled at the management board of the Castlebar Asylum. The Mayo County Board had previously asked if the Asylum grounds could be used to stage hurling and football games, but the request had been turned down. This was seen as a curious decision given that the Asylum does play host to cricket matches. The Mayo County Board has resolved to communicate once more with the Asylum management and place all the facts before them.
