26,000 workers on strike or locked out in Dublin
Latest figures show that 26,000 men and women are now either on strike or locked out in Dublin. As a result of this, rates of destitution are rising rapidly and normal business across the city is grinding to a halt. As the workers are judged to have lost their jobs as a result of strike or labour dispute they are not eligible for unemployment benefit and, consequently, have no income.
