Will women be allowed act as solicitors?

The Lord Chancellor, Lord Haldane, today received a deputation who were campaigning for the admission of women to the solicitors’ profession. Lord Haldane told the deputation that he was broadly supportive of the principle of admission, though he could not make any promise as to when the government would be in a position to pass a bill to enable it to happen.
