Traffic jams on Grafton Street

Dublin, 20 May 1915 - Due to traffic congestion on Grafton Street and Nassau Street, the presence of motor cars and carriages is to be more tightly controlled in the area.

The Dublin Metropolitan Police have been instructed to ensure that, between 11am and 6pm on weekdays, 11am and 3pm on Saturdays, motor cars, carriages and other vehicles must remain on the street only so long as to set down or take passengers or to load or unload goods.

The police point out that there are numerous side streets in the vicinity where vehicles can wait without causing any obstruction to traffic and without being in contravention of these new guidelines.
