Threat of famine in Donegal

Donegal, 23 January 1915 -  The collapse of the fishing industry in Donegal has left local people along the coast in severe distress.

The discontinuance of herring fishing and the postponement of the proposed marine works at Burtonport for the duration of war has left some families on the brink of starvation, according to local reports.
