Queen’s County defeat Kilkenny in Leinster hurling championship
The defending All-Ireland champions Kilkenny have been sensationally defeated by Queen’s County in the final of the Leinster senior hurling championship.
A huge crowd turned up to St. James’s Park - many of whom had travelling on special trains - to see Queen’s County win their first ever title by a single point, 3-2 (11 points) to 2-4 (10 points). A disallowed Kilkenny goal was a major talking point in the match, but nothing could detract from the scenes of unbridled joy that followed the final whistle.
