Prime Minister’s daughter marries

Westminster, 1 December 1915 - Violet Asquith, the eldest daughter of the Prime Minister Herbert Asquith, was married yesterday at the House of Commons church at Westminster.

Ms. Asquith married Maurice Bonham Carter, who has acted for some time as private secretary to the Prime Minister. A huge crowd assembled on the concourse outside the church to watch the arrival of the bride and her parents, and to see the wedding guests.

There was no wedding reception, but the wedding party and many guests retired to Downing Street before the bride and groom left on their honeymoon.
