Man stabbed with pitchfork after funeral
A Fermanagh farmer, George Acheson, has been charged with wounding a man, Andrew McArdle, by stabbing him with a pitchfork.
Mr. McArdle told a special court in Enniskillen that he had attended a funeral earlier in the day and had taken a lot of drink. Mr. McArdle had earlier been in a fight with another man during which two of his ribs had been broken.
A man named William Humphreys testified that he saw Mr. McArdle push and choke Mr. Acheson moments before the stabbing.
Mr. R. Sparrow, presiding, adjourned the case for two weeks so that the court might hear from Dr Annesely, who had treated the victim.
Acheson was released on bail.
