Man eats 45 eggs – and dies

A villager in Desaignes, just south of Lyon in France, has died after eating 45 eggs.

M. Falour undertook to eat 50 eggs and a pound of bread at a single sitting for a wager of 4s. 2d. He comfortably made his way through the first 36 eggs, but then began to struggle. While finishing the 45th egg, he fell dead from indigestion.
