Lion escapes in midlands
The people of the village of Kilcormac in King’s County were terrorised yesterday after a lion escaped from a visiting circus. The lion escaped from its cage on the Fair Green in the village in the afternoon and made for the open countryside.
The circus hands armed themselves and set out in pursuit, led by the circusmaster, Buff Bill, who carried a Colt .45 revolver. After a couple of hours, the lion was captured using a huge net and was returned to its cage.
