Infant mortality rate soars in Dublin

Dublin, 30 August 1916 - The death-rate among infants in Dublin is abnormally high.

A meeting of women in the city chaired by Mrs. T.W. Russell, held at the Mansion House last night, was told that the principal reason for this was that the milk supply was insufficient. A committee is being formed to work with the authorities to devise a practical scheme to reduce the current rate of mortality.
