Dublin electricians out on strike

Dublin, 14 September 1915 - Dublin electricians have gone on strike in response to the refusal of employers to grant them a pay increase.

Dissatisfaction among electricians has been ongoing for more than 12 months but meetings to resolve the points at issue have failed. Electricians have sought an increase of 7s 3½d per week, but this has been refused.

It now appears certain that the supply of electrical light in the city will be severely curtailed in the coming days.
