Drinking hours in Dublin to be restricted until next January

Dublin, 5 November 1914 - Closing time for the pubs, clubs and hotels of Dublin has been set at 10pm from Monday to Thursday, and at 9.30pm on Friday and Saturday.

The Dublin Metropolitan Police had proposed that closing time be set at 8pm on every night of the week, but this request was refused by the court.

The restricted opening hours are related to the war and are deemed in the interest of public order. They will operate until at least next January.
