Death of Provost of Trinity College

Published: 16 October 1914

The Provost of Trinity College Dublin, Dr. Anthony Traill, died yesterday morning at his residence in Dublin.

Dr. Traill, who was 75, had been confined to bed in recent months. He owned lands in Co. Antrim, Co. Down and in King’s County, and took a profound interest in all matters affecting Irish landlords.

A service will take place in the College Chapel this afternoon, and there will be a further service - followed by burial - at Billy Church, Co. Antrim tomorrow.
