Christmas decorations erected on Henry Street

Dublin, 11 December 1914 - Christmas has arrived in Dublin and shops on Henry Street have gotten into the spirit by putting up delightful decorations.

At the Henry Street Warehouse wide-spreading branches of fir trees have been garbed with frost and icicles that glint and gleam from the light cast by colourful lamps. Garlands of evergreen plants form arches between pillars and are entwined along the shops' fixtures. On top of the branches sit cages, encircled with holly, and in each cage a canary sings away for the day.
