British spies freed in Germany

Three British men, convicted of espionage in Berlin, have been pardoned this morning by the German Emperor, Wilhelm II. The men (Captain Trench, Lieutenant Brandon and a solicitor, Mr. Stewart) had all been sentenced to prison, but their release was ordered this morning and the men are expected to be free within 48 hours. 

Official sources in Berlin say that the Emperor ordered the release in the wake of the wedding of his only daughter, Princess Louise, to the Duke of Brunswick. The wedding had been attended by King George V of the United Kingdom and Tsar Nicholas II of Russia.
