Boy attacked by organ-grinder’s monkey in Dublin
Dublin, 3 May 1913 - A young Dublin boy, John Connell (8), was attacked and bitten by an organ-grinder’s monkey last night on Parnell Street.
The boy had been one of a group of people who had gathered around a barrel organist who was performing on the street. In the course of the performance, the monkey jumped on John Connell and bit him on the face, forehead and right leg.
The injured boy was rushed to Jervis Street Hospital where he was detained overnight, his injuries being considered serious.
