600 women to work in Irish munitions factories

Dublin, 16 December 1915 - More than 600 women will begin working in Dublin munitions factories in the New Year.

The site selected for the new factory currently holds the old woolen mills on Parkgate Street near the entrance to the Phoenix Park. The number of women working in munitions factories across Ireland will grow to some 8,000 in the coming months.
