130,000 men in Irish Volunteers

The number of men who have joined the Irish Volunteers has now passed 130,000 in the seven months since its establishment. There is currently at least one branch of the Volunteers in every county of Ireland and new volunteers are enlisting at a rate of 5,000 per week. The breakdown per province for Volunteers is Leinster 42,000, Ulster 41,000, Munster 27,000 and Connaught 18,500.
